As you already know, TalkTalkBnb aims to bring people from around the world together by making everybody open their door to travelers in exchange for a linguistic immersion.
As cultural exchange lovers, we were delighted when Backpacks&Bridges contacted us. Today, we are happy to introduce their project.
Backpacks&Bridges, is a social B&B.
Each time someone hosts them for free, Emanuel and Stéphanie, our two travellers, will donate between 10€ and 20€ to a social and community-based project, initiated and conceived by a native (meaning a project by a local, built by and for their community). They will get their fill of cultural exchanges and participate together to materialising a positive project!
Backpacks & Bridges will use the magic of networks thanks to a simple internet connection : they will share their itinerary, and if you know someone who knows someone who knows someone in the area, you can put them in contact with your friends. Thanks to you, the amount donated to the selected project will increase… We are all part of a bigger whole!
The project for this journey was initiated by Stephanie, who founded her own nonprofit in May 2015 to help people with good ideas that she meets during her travels. To help fight poverty, her nonprofit, Aroonii, helps small-scale social and community-based projects with high potential, to help them spread their wings!
During their trip around the world, Emanuel and Stéphanie will continue along this path, doing profiles of the people they meet who are changing the world for the better in their own way and at their level.
As a backdrop to this trip around the world, they are supporting a project to promote education for all in Cambodia: Cours avec Moi ! Backpacks & Bridges is all a way to communicate on the project, to finance it and to help it develop, with the backing of Aroonii which has been supporting Cours avec Moi! since its inception in February 2016.
Backpacks&Bridges contacted us recently to be a partner to their amazing adventure. Of course, we thought it was a great idea to work hand in hand and we accepted.
Backpacks&Bridges will use TalkTalkBnb extensively during their travels! We have a common DNA, we will be happy to help them find hosts to stay with.
In exchange, they will share their TalkTalkBnb experience with our respective communities.
TalkTalkBnb is lucky to be one of their key partners: by helping them reaching more people, it will be easier for them to find hosts which means that they will increase their donations to social community-based projects.
You too can be part of this fantastic project.

You can talk about their project among your network, by following them on social networks and by liking and sharing their posts.
You can also volunteer to help the social and solidarity projects they've identified, but you can also contact them to give them your own ideas!
Also, you can make a donation directly on their website. The donation will go to Arooni, which is a nonprofit association, and it will directly fund the Cours avec Moi ! project.
